In town, you may buy armor, weapons, spells, and potions. You may haggle with the shopkeeper (15 or better, add Charisma) once. If you succeed, all items are 10% off forever. It is imperative to do this at the start of the game. The costs of these items are without a discount and prices cost 10% less if you have a discount. *Magic Portal will open where you cast it. When you say "Open Sesame," you will teleport to the place you cast it. This includes the Town, so you can also teleport there as well. When casting the spell, you must roll an 14 or above to cast at full strength. If you roll below this, the Magic Portal can only be used once. A successful roll causes the Magic Portal to be used twice. After you use it, the Portal will close. Any companions will follow you through the Magic Portal.

If you’re quite low on health and fighting a strong monster, and you don’t want to risk failing an evasion test, you (and your companion, if you happen to have one) can instantly escape by opening the portal. However, use it wisely, for the Magic Portal spell costs 200 gold by default, and runs out of stock quickly.
